Movie Catalog

The Movies page lists every film in the database. Each card displays the poster, title, rating, genre, and release year.

Searching by Title

Use the search bar at the top of the catalog page. Type a keyword and press Search. Results update immediately. The search matches against movie titles.

Filtering by Genre

Select a genre from the dropdown next to the search bar (Drama, Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Animation, etc.) and click Search. Choose "All Genres" to reset the filter. You can also use the genre links in the Movies dropdown menu in the navbar.

Movie Detail Page

Click any movie card to view its detail page. Here you will find:

  • Full description, genre, year, and duration
  • Embedded YouTube trailer (when available)
  • User rating and review section
  • A ratings distribution chart (Chart.js bar graph)

Viewing Format Options

When adding a movie to your cart, you can choose between three formats:

  • Standard (720p) – base price
  • HD (1080p) – +$2.00
  • Premium 4K + Dolby Atmos – +$5.00

The price shown on the Add to Cart button updates automatically as you switch formats.
